Manual Handling Instructor and Assessor Refresher
Three Day Training Course
|
|
Background
Manual handling accounts for over one-third of all reported accidents in Ireland. Most accidents result in back injury, though the hands, arms and feet may also be injured.
Specific legislation, namely Part 2, Chapter 4, of the General Application Regulations 2007, requires employers to designate a competent employee or engage a competent person to assist them in safety and health protection.
The aim of this three-day course is to refresh and update participants’ existing skills and knowledge to enable them to continue to successfully deliver training to individuals involved in the manual handling of loads (Operative level). The course also aims to refresh participants understanding of Training and Presentation activities and associated responsibilities. Participants who successfully complete the Refresher course will be certified to run Manual Handling Operative courses for an additional five years.
